Daphne Hicks
Daphne is a certified wellness coach and has certifications in primary aerobics, Pilates,
and restorative yoga. She holds three Zumba licenses, is a line dance instructor and a self-taught Dance
Minister. She has been teaching for 18 years and has had the pleasure of working with many churches,
Schools, and other organizations. She also teaches liturgical dance at the Sisters Academy of Baltimore
and serves on the dance ministry at St. Bernadine’s Catholic Church with Historic St. Peter Claver. In
addition she coordinates the Step Team (Stepping for Jesus) and the Health and Wellness Ministry.
In 2016, she was the recipient of the Maryland State Physical Fitness Excellence Award, and in 2019
for her many years of work with, then, the St. Peter Claver and St. Pius V Catholic Church’s health and
wellness ministry, she received the prestigious Mother Lange Leadership Award from the Archdiocese.
Daphne graduated with honors holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science from
Coppin State University, with a 4.0 GPA holding a joint Master of Science in Human Services
Administration from Coppin State University and the University of Baltimore. She is currently doctoral
candidate from Walden University majoring in Human Services (Leadership and Program Evaluation),
and is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
