Edmond Nolley

Edmond B. Nolley, Jr (Ed) Mr. Nolley graduated from Baltimore City College (1964) and Loyola University of Maryland (1968) with a BS in Economics and an MBA. He has had careers in banking– Senior Vice President with Wells Fargo and its antecedents and the US Army and Maryland Army National Guard as a Brigadier General and Assistant Adjutant General– Army (1996-2001). Having had a lifetime dedication towards enhancing the lives of seniors and individuals with special needs, Mr. Nolley started as a summertime orderly / nurses aid at Keswick Multicare Center at age 19 and remains a volunteer with that organization as an Emeritus Board Member. He was president of the Keswick Board (1998-2003) and was named “Volunteer of the Year” in 2005 receiving a 50-year service award in 2015. Mr. Nolley has been a volunteer at Gilchrist since 2014 serving as an “end of life doula” and companion for individuals approaching death. Additionally, he serves on the Gilchrist We Honor Veterans initiative for which he was the chairman of the 1st Welcome Home Celebration in 2018. For this initiative, he has led hundreds of salute ceremonies across residential care communities and homes of veterans. Also, he is chair of the Gilchrist Ambassador Team whose volunteer members reach out to organizations of all sizes re: “Truths & Myths of Hospice”, “Life ending Decisions”, “Engaging in difficult conversations with loved ones about final wishes”. In 2018 & 2023, Mr. Nolley received the Gilchrist compassionate care award. Mr. Nolley started as a board member with the Arc of Baltimore in 1987, was president of the board (2004-2006). In 2004 he was named “Volunteer of the Year”” for the Arc of Baltimore. In May 2023, Mr. Nolley was recognized as “Healthcare Volunteer of the year” by the Daily Record.
