Church of the Holy Trinity Indoor Worship Mask Policy — UPDATE 06-26-2022

June 27, 2022 by sheilaw

The following letter concerning the wearing of masks while attending in-person services was issued on Saturday, June 25, 2022:

Dear Church Family

It has been a blessing to once again worship and fellowship together in person. The Episcopal of Maryland Diocese has rescinded its mask mandate for indoor worship and has left it to the discretion of each parish whether to require masks going forward.  With the warmer weather of summer, it is understandable that people are ready to drop wearing masks indoors.  However, as you know, COVID-19 is still with us.  There are variants of the virus circulating in the community and the country that continue to cause illness.

At the June vestry meeting, mask requirements were discussed.  Many expressed their commitment to continue to wear masks indoors, out of concern for their own health as well as the health of others.  After much discussion, the Vestry voted to follow the current CDC and local public health department recommendations, which make the wearing of masks indoors optional.

The Vestry, however, strongly encourages people attending in-person services to wear masks while inside.

The Church of the Holy Trinity will continue to monitor and follow CDC, local public health department and Diocese of Maryland recommendations.

Thank you.

Peace and continued blessings.
